Waking up at 0645 in the morning by a big German shouting "Matahari Harbourmaster!, Matahari Harbourmaster!".

The sail from Omø to Kiel is a long stretch of 75 nm. We had planned for sailing through the day and into the night, arriving some time in the morning.
Today we were up at 5 AM to get the most of the windy forecast. We were quite concerned about the current because of our experience sailing into Sejerø.
Yesterday we had a long sail all the way from Varberg in Sweden to Sejerø in Denmark.
85 nm is quite a stretch so we had our first sunset at sea. The day has finally arrived when we start our journey from Tønsberg to the Canari Islands.
Winds were a bit much and swell of 2 meters from 90 degrees made for a hard start for Heidi. Today we needed to get up the mast to add a rope for future climbing the mast.
As of now, we have to take down our Genoa to use the rope for climbing, and we wanted to have an extra rope for lifting the dingy as well. |
