Monday morning in Bergen. The weather is a bit on the grey side, but Bergen is a beautiful city. Most of the morning is spent trying to get new maps for our chart-plotter. What a saga :-) The boat only has charts for the northern part of Norway, so we have to get new charts to cover the rest of the way home. This is of course not as easy as we think, as our plotter is a Raymarine C80, quite a few years old, the store in Bergen didn't have the right memorycard to feed charts into our plotter. It just wouldn't accept a 4GB card, as the frustration grew lady luck suddenly smiled in our direction.
Into the store, an elderly gentleman came with his old plotter, a Raymarine C80 that was broken. Inside the plotter he had a card with charts for the whole of Norway, and being a gentleman and hearing of our plight he said he could sell it to us as he had another one at home - PRICELESS :-) We could now get moving along, if this gentleman had not been there at that time we would still be stuck in Bergen. Our friend Robert B, who crewed with us from Ålesund had to say goodbye as he had some work in the city of Bergen. Thank you som much Robert B!
