Waking up in the morning we saw that Camaret Sur Mer was quite a gem. Just the place to celebrate Heidi's birthday and the national day of France.
Sailing from Poole to Brest was supposed to be a one night sail but the wind had other plans.
We now have a new crewmember and Dag was happy to swing the ropes taking his place at the helm.
Our friend Koert from the Nederland who has helped us a lot on this journey is on his summer holiday sailing down the coast of England.
Today we got up really early to start the crossing of the English channel.
We were not alone as we started sailing at 0600 and the other 3 sailboats followed us for the first 3-4 hours.
The themesong for this adventure seems to be loss of wind.
In the morning it was quite good but in the middle of the day it calmed down.... again.
Today the plan was to get up early and sail all the way to Ooestende.
That didn't go so well...........
Den Helder has a wonderful harbour and the service was just amazing. It was not before we were leaving the problem started.
We arrived in Norderney in the middle of the night, so we just tied the boat to the wall and went to sleep as there were no available spots. When we woke up the tide was inn and we had been raised nearly 3 meters so we moved the boat and went for some food shopping and to get some cash from the bank.
Today we were planning to sail from Cuxhaven to Den Helder. That is quite a stretch, about 180 nm of sailing.
