After six days at sea it really felt good setting foot on land. Checking in at the harbourmaster's office our plan was to stay a few days before moving on.
Most of our plans have been changed along the way and this stretch was no exception.
Sailing out from Cascais we got fair winds and everything looked really good..... for a while.
Cascais was a very nice town and we used the day for some shopping and laundry.
On the Facebook group "Seilere på facebook" we came in contact with another Norwegian sailboat, S/Y Silfrania staying in Cascais .
Early morning we set of from Viana do Castelo with a plan to reach Cascais and this time we did exactly what we planned.
So happy about getting safely across the bay of Biscay we took the day off in La Coruña. Making some omelets and serving Heidi breakfast in bed was a nice way to start the day.
Leaving La Coroña we set sails early in the morning with a plan of sailing all the way to Porto.
As usual that didn't work out the way we planned.
Our sail to Brest (or Camaret Sur Mer as we chose) took way to long. Dag's timetable did not add up, so we had to leave him in France and sail across the bay of Biscay just the two of us.
Waking up in the morning we saw that Camaret Sur Mer was quite a gem. Just the place to celebrate Heidi's birthday and the national day of France.
Sailing from Poole to Brest was supposed to be a one night sail but the wind had other plans.
We now have a new crewmember and Dag was happy to swing the ropes taking his place at the helm.
