To fix the engine trouble, our good friend Stein Iversen left his boat in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and made his way back to Puerto de Mogan with the first flight on Saturday, and after working all day felt really good to have an expert on the boat to help us with the engine.
Stein discovered that at the same time as we got shit in our diesel filters a wire broke on the other side of the engine and it is good to know that there was absolutely nothing Robert could have done in our situation to get the motor back in shape, so the rescue was absolutely necessary, though our bill mas enormous compared to Norway and The Netherlands.
Our Finish friends were quite happy with the sail, but decided to take a flight back to Finland, skipping the sail to Madeira all together, and we don't blame them, winds of storm strength can be quite scary.
We now had our friend Stein on board, so we sailed back to Santa Cruz de Tenerife. This time everything worked out fine, though the engine actually stopped this time as well, still more crap in the engine, same stuff, but at least now Robert knew where to look and the problem was fixed in good time to enter the Puerto de Tenerife, Santa Cruz. As we had another day of engine fixing we asked to be berthed next to Stein's boat, making helping each other easier.
