After having some problems getting to Santa Cruz de Tenerife we finally arrived.
Much thanks to Stein that did some magic with our engine and joined us for the sail over from Puerto de Mogan.
In Santa Cruz we had some nice days in the sun, and time to fix the boat before sailing to Madeira. Robert and Stein removed and filtered all the diesel in the tank and changed some valves and hoses in the engine.
Last day before starting the sail up to Madeira Stein made us a fantastic dinner on his boat.
We used the day walking up to the local market so Stein could buy the things he needed to make a local meal for this area, Conejo â la Stein (Rabitt with vegetables), it was just amazing.
Thursday morning we set sail, or actually we never got that far, because a few hundred meters from the harbour the engine stopped again and with almost no wind we saw no other option than to give Stein a call and wake him up. So 20 minutes later he was out helping us and towing us back to the marina.
Frustrating as it was, we had to stay another night at the marina while we figured out what caused this so quickly. Another goodbye dinner, this time pizza at the local restaurant, and strait to bed getting ready for the sail to Madeira on Friday.
